OUR STORY
Our Imalahkaha (family) provides cultural education through explanation and demonstration regarding North American indigenous social song and dance. We stress the importance of education by providing audience interaction with our presenters. Our organization displays our powwow (social) dance and regalia styles. Some of these are Northern Traditional, Fancy War dance, Jingle, and Grass dance. We often include social dances from tribes such as the Alabama-Coushatta, Tutelo-Saponi, Comanche, and Lakota.
Several of our members have served as head staff on powwows throughout the country. We have also featured our culture at events such as New Orleans Jazzfest, Lewisville Western Days, and corporate functions (AT&T, Raytheon, Mercedes-Benz).
