Presentations Coordinator - CLOSED

The Indigenous Cultures Institute seeks a highly organized and detail oriented Public Presentations Coordinator to develop and maintain a portfolio of speakers and performers; book, negotiate and execute contracts; manage invoicing and payments; oversee lodging and other logistics for speakers and performers; create promotional materials such as photos, videos, posters, and web content; distribute promotional materials; and organize evaluations of presentations by Evaluations Committee. Some of this work can be done remotely and some requires attending events to seek talent.

Indigenous Teachers Training Coordinator - CLOSED

The Indigenous Cultures Institute seeks a Teacher Training Coordinator with experience and/or interest in culturally relevant pedagogy. The Teacher Training Coordinator will develop and execute the Xinachtli Teacher Training Program during Summer 2022, a three-day in-person workshop / three-part online course for professional development credit. The Xinachtli program utilizes an Indigenous-based and culturally relevant pedagogy that supports culturally responsive teaching. The Teachers Training Coordinator will:

  • Collaborate with author of the Xinachtli pedagogy (the basis for this training), as well as the Program Expansion Coordinator to develop the training curriculum, lessons plans, activities, and other class materials for both the in-person and online courses;
  • Create the online course with a website developer that will allow teachers to sign up for each of the three parts of the online course, pay the fee, take the course, and obtain proof of completion of professional development certified by Texas State University;
  • Work with Texas State University to obtain professional development certification for the courses; and
  • Organize a pilot teacher training in Summer 2022, obtain feedback from participants, and adjust the materials and service delivery as needed.
  • Some of this work can be done remotely. However in-person training will require physical attendance.

Digital Media Promotion CONTRACT - CLOSED

Contract effective April 1 through October 2, 2022. Deadline to apply: OPEN until filled

This contractor will design, implement, and manage a six-month campaign promoting the 2022 Sacred Springs Powwow through digital media including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Google Ads. This work can be done remotely. The contractor will be asked to :

  1. Create and present a promotion plan with a list of activities and a schedule for completion
  2. Create new content ads for posting
  3. Work with Google Ads for promotional advertisement
  4. Design a powwow flyer for printing

Marketing Specialist - CLOSED

Contract effective February 1 through October 2, 2022. Deadline to apply: OPEN until filled

This contract is to create new revenue generating programs for the Sacred Springs Powwow scheduled for Oct 1 & 2, 2022.  This contract will also enhance current revenue generating programs. Some of this work can be done remotely. However, attendance at the powwow will be necessary to supervise implementation of new programs. The contractor will be asked to:

  1. Create and present a plan for new ideas, development, budget to finance them, and timeline to implement.
  2. Create and implement, at minimum, four new revenue generators. 
  3. Enhance or improve current revenue generators like the donations jar, raffle, auction, admissions, and vendor fees.
